Boise Kidney & Hypertension Institute Management

David Tupper
David L. Tupper

Practice Administrator

David joined Boise Kidney & Hypertension Institute in October of 2009 as Practice Administrator. Over the past three decades, he has held senior health care leadership positions in the arenas of acute care hospitals, physician practice management, skilled nursing, adult day care, home health care and hospice. In recent years, David held the position of Chief Executive Officer for acute care hospitals where his primary accomplishments included the opening of five hospitals over the course of nine years, in three states (Arizona, Texas, and Idaho). Prior to holding these CEO positions, he served as a Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer in various health care organizations.

David moved full time to Idaho in December of 2007 to build and successfully open the Complex Care Hospital in Meridian. This specialty acute care hospital is a new concept in the Treasure Valley. It works with the traditional acute care hospitals to provide a continuum of care for medically fragile patients—benefiting the health needs of the community and providing jobs as a large employer.

David holds Finance and Economics degrees from Ferris State University, located in Big Rapids, Michigan. He focused much of his early career on financial operations— finding synergies between clinical operations and finance, which historically have been segregated. His experience in this new cost-driven, inclusive- and quality-focused approach is sure to be a huge asset for Boise Kidney and our community.
