Mary Dittrich, MD, FASN

Mary Dittrich, MD, FASN, is a partner at Boise Kidney & Hypertension Institute in Meridian, Idaho. She is also a Clinical Instructor, Division of Nephrology, University of Washington, Seattle, Washington. Dr. Dittrich received her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC) in Denver, Colorado. She subsequently served a residency in Internal Medicine followed by a Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington Hospital. She went on to complete fellowship training in Nephrology also at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. After completing her fellowship training, Dr. Dittrich worked at the University of Washington in the area of transplantation.

She has performed clinical research in administering androgens to hemodialysis patients and in assessing the efficacy of influenza vaccine in a health population of people living in a dormitory setting. Her research in Idaho dealt with using a special form of dialysate in the chronic dialysis unit. Dr. Dittrich is a member of several professional societies. She has published on the topic of cell cycle control in glomerular disease as well as her research on steroids in dialysis patients.

In addition, Dr. Dittrich enjoys teaching and is the physician lead on the Liberty Dialysis, LLC Educational Project. She taught at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Boise and for her work there was awarded the 2007 WWAMI Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of Washington Department of Medicine. She serves on the Northwest Renal Network Board of Directors.

Mary and her husband Bill have three children.
